DBT THERAPY & MINDFULNESS IN RED BUD, ILLINOIS

Welcome to Growing Mindful

I want to help you learn how to move through intense emotions, break free from behaviors that do not serve you, and reconnect to your core, true self so you can create a life worth loving.

You’re struggling to keep afloat in the deep, seemingly unending pool of emotions.

When things are going well you appear fun loving, charismatic, and you can blend in with just about anyone. You are creative, determined, and compassionate. People who are close to you may tell you that you are “deep, sensitive, and emotional.

From the outside, things look good or at least “fine.” However, inside it is anything but fine. You feel alone, misunderstood, fearful, anxious, and struggle with intense emotions. You feel so many emotions, sometimes so quickly, it is like whiplash.

You want someone to understand, someone to see you and know that this pain is so real, so heavy. You want to feel in control. You want: Freedom. Relief. Understanding. Hope.

You’re in the right place because I want that for you too.

All is not lost. There is a way through.

You want to feel better, “normal”, free. You want some relief from the endless rapid fire of intense emotions. The mood swings, anxiety, loneliness, and ongoing confusion that you feel about yourself and your relationships. With support, skills, and willingness, it is possible for you to:

  • Become aware of and learn to manage patterns of behavior, thoughts and emotions

  • Allow yourself to feel all the feelings without being overcome by your feelings

  • Feel confident, stable and worthy of love & compassion, even when life is painful

  • Find balance in your inner and outer world

  • Feel connected to yourself and others

  • Be present and experience acceptance, peace and joy in the moment

  • Get unstuck and see yourself and the world in new ways

  • Build a life worth living. A life that you love.

MEET Annamarie Hess, MSW, LCSW

Nice to Meet You!

I’m Anna, a mental health therapist based in Red Bud, Illinois. I’m here to help you with the overwhelming emotions and mood swings you experience while trying to live your best life.

Having experienced intense emotions and mood swings myself, I can relate to knowing how hard it can be to maintain a job, school, and relationships while feeling like inside you are drowning or acting in ways that really don’t fit who you are.

Using DBT and Mindfulness, I strive to honor each individual’s experience and unique needs while providing evidence-based treatment. To create lasting change, I strongly feel that each person I work with needs tailored, individualized support and evidence-based treatment. Both are equally important in one’s journey towards the person and life they desire to create.

How I Can Help

I strive to provide therapy that gives you support and accountability. I want to help you increase acceptance of yourself and others, change unhealthy patterns, and enhance your overall well-being. The main approaches I use in my practice are:

  • DBT is a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that has been proven to help people who struggle to control or manage their behaviors and emotions. DBT is highly structured, solution-focused, and aims to help people replace destructive habits, emotions and thoughts with more effective solutions.

Growth is accepting ourselves and welcoming change.

Flowers can grow in the most harrowing of circumstances...cracks in the sidewalk, among desert sand and flooded plains. Our minds, hearts, and souls are like those flowers, able to grow and flourish even in harsh conditions.

Growing Mindful is built on this concept of acceptance and growth – meeting you as you are and nurturing your power to grow, flourish, and thrive.
